Where has the summer gone? I honestly can’t believe it’s already that time again….kids go back to school next week!!!! WHAT!?!
With that said, I’m excited to share some of my RED images from this past month, along with one of my personal favourite RED photographs from last fall’s mini sessions (who can resist a bright pair of red sneakers….not me!!!).
Please follow along our blog circle project starting with the very talented Nina Mingioni.

Last month I joined a wonderful group of ladies in Tofino, BC to help surprise and celebrate my Auntie’s 60th birthday. It was a fantastic few days on the island; with lots of laughter, r&r, and some amazing scenery (including a rare look at a sun halo!).
I’ve included a little back story on one of these images at the bottom of this post. I hope it makes you smile 🙂
*Brotherly Love – I found this little gem sitting on my son’s bed. Translation (for those not fluent in grade 1 ‘best try’ spelling): Go to her room, use light to distract her, get her with gadgits, sneak out back to my room.
I’m finally getting around to sharing this amazing session I did for our good friends last summer as they welcomed their beautiful twin boys into the world. These little guys have grown so much since then (they’re 6 months already!!!!), and have stolen the hearts of their family and friends. It’s such an honour to be able to watch them grow up.
Here’s a look back to when they were 1 month new!
My first blog post of 2014!!! After taking a couple weeks off from editing and posting, I’m so happy to share some images from our recent trip to Mexico!
At the beginning of January, we joined my family near Playa Del Carmen to celebrate the wedding of my cousin Jeff and his fabulous new wife Katlin. We had such a fun time (despite less than perfect weather), and I, of course, took tons of pictures! So many in fact, that I’m going to have to share them over a couple of posts. To kick things off on this cold winter day….here are some beach shots of my kids building sandcastles with Papa and Nana, and some market images from our trip into Playa Del Carmen with my cousins!
365 days ago, I set off on a journey to capture images of my life on a daily basis. I did this because I wanted to grow as an artist. I wanted to push myself to ‘see’ things differently, become a more confident and capable photographer, and capture priceless memories along the way. Today I celebrate, not only the welcoming of a new year, but the successful completion of this personal goal. I did it! I shot a picture EVERY DAY of 2013, and shared my favourites here with all of you.
As I look back on the last 365 days (and the 365+ images), I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, but more importantly, I am grateful. I had many supporters along the way, including an amazing group of fellow photographers who were doing similar personal projects this year. Together, we encouraged each other, pushed each other, celebrated successes, and picked each other up when we inevitably hit ‘ruts’ along our way. It was an amazing experience sharing this journey with all of you talented individuals, and I thank you so much for inspiring me on a daily basis.
Most importantly though, I would not have been able to achieve this goal without the incredibly selfless support of my family. It wasn’t easy for them to put up with having the camera around all the time, but they did…for me. They encouraged me to keep going, even on the couple of occasions when I wanted to quit. For this I will always be grateful. Thank you Keith, Ashton and Lauren for being my foundation. I dedicate this project to you! xxoo.
